David Cook Raises $140,000 For Cancer

David Cook came back this year for the Race For Hope event in Washington D.C. and raised a big amount of money for the cause.

After losing his older brother, Adam Cook, because of cancer last year, Cook returned this year and ran the race for the National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, and raised $140,000.

"I came back because the cause is important to me and my family, as well as countless others. Brain tumors and brain cancer continues to be one of the most under-funded diseases," Cook tells  People.

"The last year has been a process," Cook says. "It's all about perspective and remembering what Adam went through so we can work to help avoid anyone else having to do the same."

We think more people should do this! We're proud of David!
