Facebook donates $40,000 to Apache

OpenSource is definitely the new bitch in town.

Facebook announced today they have become a "gold" sponsor of the Apache Software Foundation in order to expand their oper-source investments.

Since day one, Facebook has definitely used open-source a lot, in fact Facebook's senior open programs manager, David Recordon states that they've "open sourced more than 20 different technologies and scaled Facebook to reach over 350 million people around the world,", which undoubtly puts open-source as a profitable and global tool for developers and mostly, easy and secure for users.

It seems like the days of the overpriced mediocre software are close to an end. Finally software will stop sucking someday.
